The role of a Scaffold Designer is to ensure all designs are developed and adhered to during the erection of Temporary Works.
Job Responsibilities
- Production of drawings using the latest AutoCAD and other Autodesk software.
- Creation of detailed engineering calculations in accordance with the relevant British and European standards using both Excel based calculations and structural analysis software where required.
- Production of all relevant documentation in adherence with company procedures, CDM regulations, British Standards and Industry Guidance.
- Frequent travel to operational sites throughout the UK for surveys and meetings.
- Liaison with company managers, supervisors and foremen, as well as client representatives to ensure optimum solutions are reached.
- Provision of guidance, advice and technical support to management and supervision.
Experience Required
- HNC, HND or Degree in civil, mechanical or structural engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the design of scaffolding structures is preferred – experience in temporary works, civil, mechanical or structural design may also be considered.
- Problem solve, organise, prioritise and deliver within a high-paced environment.
- IT literate and fully proficient in the use of Autodesk products and Microsoft Office. A working knowledge of structural analysis software would be a distinct advantage although training will be provided.
- Commitment, drive and the ability to work on one’s own initiative.
- A full U.K. driving licence will be required.
