Join the team on Hinkley Point C, ensuring that coatings are carried out in accordance with the appropriate specification and project requirements.

The role includes visual inspection of welding to identify capability of achieving suitable profiles. Also Ensuring general best practices are adopted and adhered to.

Job Responsibilities
  • Liaison with the Engineering and Production personnel, Clients' Inspectors, other discipline inspectors and, when appropriate, the Certifying Authority, Classification Society and / or Independent Verification Body.
  • Ensuring the Coatings are performed by qualified Painters in accordance with approved procedures / site coating instruction sheets and that coatings are in compliance with the requirements.
  • Carrying out Coating procedure, production test and general parameter monitoring using the methods and equipment as directed by the Project.
  • Performing surveillance as required by the Quality Control / Inspection and Test Plans, and documenting all of theinspections on the appropriate formats, including stores monitoring, consumable control, plant checks, etc.
  • Performing daily inspections, maintaining a daily diary, completing checklists and producing weekly summary reports
  • Monitoring materials usage and traceability to ensure the right material is being utilised, that Test Certificate Numbers are being transferred and correctly recorded.
  • To be familiar with the Scope of Work, the Contract Specifications and appropriate National / International Standards, the drawings and the procedures.
  • To verify correct installation of the work, inspect and witness tests as required and sign the relevant Test / Inspection / Completion Certificates / Records.
  • To pay attention to all quality issues and bring to management attention deficiencies which may be outside his workscope e.g.: preservation and protection of materials and equipment, architectural items unprotected in an external environment.
  • To document through the NCR procedure, deficiencies revealed during inspection subsequently following up and closing out of such situations.
  • To carry out any other inspection duties as requested by, and agreed with the Delivery Quality Manager

Experience Required

  • Major Project Experience, Demonstratable
  • Nuclear Experience beneficial
  • ICORR Insulation or NDT experience if possible

Qualifications Needed

  • NACE Level 3 (or Equivalent) Coatings Inspection Certificate.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience within the Coatings / inspection discipline within the Nuclear / offshore / Power / Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
